The mission of Camphill Communities California is to provide a nurturing and dynamic residential community where adults with developmental disabilities live, learn and work together with professional care givers and volunteers. Located on six acres of land near Santa Cruz, it is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, a member of the Camphill Association of North America, and supporter of the Camphill Foundation.

Camphill California is part of the International Camphill Movement, a worldwide initiative for social change with over a hundred affiliates worldwide, founded by Karl König and inspired by the anthroposophical teachings of Rudolf Steiner.

The Camphill Village Trust invests and manages funds deposited by individuals or families (sponsors) for the benefit of individuals who have special needs.

"Camphill Communities California is beautiful in many ways...
no one is treated as disabled; everyone is given the right,
at their own pace, in their own ways, to contribute to a very
unique community that genuinely values all of its members.
Since his arrival, our son Frans is developing himself fully in
ways we never suspected he could in our wildest dreams.

~ Dominique van Hooff, mother of Frans van Hooff,
a resident-member of Camphill California.
